Mantra Meditation: The Yoga of Transcendental Sound
Everything in the universe, from distant galaxies to the floor beneath our feet, is vibrating. Vibration is the foundation of our experience. Want to change your experience? Change the vibration! Sanskrit mantras have a dynamically transformative effect on the psyche. In this workshop we'll look at the liberating power of sacred sound: learn about the distinctions between mundane and transcendental sound vibrations, learn a variety of mantras along with their meanings, explore various techniques for developing a solitary, introspective practice, and learn the joyful art of kirtan: musical meditation as a group practice of call-and-response chanting. No musical talent or expertise is required and participants will come away with knowledge of how mantra meditation can help us enter into deep states of meditation.
