Join us in the “Pink City” of Jaipur during Diwali and the Famous Camel Festival Jaipur, India

This retreat is open to anyone who wishes to facilitate self-discovery in the truest sense; opening the mind, body and soul through cultural immersion, yoga practice and humanitarianism through volunteering with children inside of one of Jaipur's local "slum schools".

Volunteering
Areas of volunteer work will be based on your own life experience and personal interests. From yoga and art, to language skills, you will be free to create your own unique, teacher-student experience with the children of Jaipur. We will work to help you find your special way of connecting to this community. In just one of week of volunteering, you will have a positive impact on a deserving community and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. This year we are planning on creating an out of school field trip series as well as provide uniforms for all 87 children at this special school we have been working with for the past 10 years. We will also introduce non-violent communication and goal setting techniques to a group of women that have limited access to the outside world but we have been in partnership wither the past 5 years. Additionally, through the lens of Trauma Informed Yoga we will host a series of talks with our volunteers and help you to weave it in to your personal practice or if you are a teacher how to implement this in to your classes.

We need YOUR help and YOUR OWN UNIQUE LIGHT to help these children and mothers.

Accommodation & Cuisine
We will be staying in a boutique 3-star hotel in Jaipur that has a garden and beautiful 500 year old marble yoga shala. There is a healthy vegetarian restaurant that can accommodate all diet restrictions- providing safe natural produce to ensure that even raw salads are safe. The hotel features a gift shop and small spa so even on days that you feel like being low key there is plenty to do within the hotel grounds. This is an adventurous trip for the open hearted and your safety is alway considered first. We will use our long time trusted local support team and travel with safe drivers. For the long drives we will have large passenger vans or cars taking us. In Jaipur we will be in Rikshaws. Our team has lead hundreds of volunteers and we are sure you will feel like family!

In Pushkar we will be staying in high end tents so that we can connect with the ways of the past and enjoy this sacred city at its finest. During these 3 final days of your stay we encourage a digital detox. There will be wifi only available in the main common area. There is also no alcohol allowed in Pushkar as a sacred place of worship. Pushkar is a unique place that is easily walkable without the usual hassle and bustle of Indian traffic and theres a few beautiful hikes to temples located around which we will enjoy as well as th world famous camel festival where nomads travel for up to a month by foot to attend. This will be the ultimate experience for your body and soul.

Additional Activities
We will be able to experience the amazing Diwalil, a religious holiday celebrated amongst thousands of locals. We will celebrate in true authentic Indian style at a local family’s house.

Of course no day will be complete without a dose of traditional Indian culture! Look forward to sari shopping in the bustling marketplaces, authentic Indian cooking class and exploring ancient temples, palaces and mausoleums. Please note that all excursions are optional and although we do provide a fun-filled schedule we will always do our best to accommodate your wishes.
