Agra & The taj- March 21-23

Join us for our  annual trip to “The Pink City” of Jaipur, India! We will be celebrating Holi which is also known as the festival of color or the festival of love. Maybe you've seen pictures before of this festival where people are decorated in bright colors and throwing little poofs of chalk as well as celebrating with singing and dancing. Now you get to be a part of the colorful fun! Typically the night before the festival you celebrate at your families home around a bonfire and our local in country coordinator, Karnika her family has invited you to celebrate with them as they guide you through explaining the different forms of celebration and feasting over traditional homemade Rajasthan cuisine.

This retreat is open to any person who wishes to facilitate self-discovery in the truest sense; opening the mind, body and soul through cultural immersion, yoga practice and humanitarianism. We will be staying in a luxury hotel in Delhi and a boutique 4 star hotel in Jaipur. Both places grow much of their own food and we have worked with for many years. Then can accommodate all diets and provide safe organic produce to ensure that even raw salads are safe for their guest. All hotels have outside oasis and gift shops so even days that you feel like being low key there is plenty to do inside the grounds of the hotel. Please note that all excursions are optional and although we do provide a fun filled schedule we will always do our best to accommodate your wishes.

This retreat allows for volunteering with children inside of one of Jaipur's local "slum schools", Vihaan which in Hindi translates to "morning light". Areas of volunteer work will be based on your own life experience and personal interests. From yoga and art, to language, to computer skills, to personal hygiene; you will be free to create your own unique, teacher-student experience with the children of Jaipur. We will work closely with you to help you find your special way of connecting with this special community. In just one of week of volunteering, you will not only leave behind a positive impact on a wonderful, deserving community, but develop memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. This year we are planing on reaching out to work with a local eye doctor so that we can provide vision care to all 65 children in this project through our 'Yogamour Sees Seva Project'. We will need YOUR help to pull this clinic off as well as bring your own unique light into the school day while you are there.

No day will be complete without a dose of traditional Indian culture (optional); look forward to sari shopping in the bustling marketplaces, authentic Indian cooking class and exploring ancient temples, palaces and mausoleums.

Optional journaling, meditation and yoga practice will provide solace and reflection to the days well served. We will also be offering a few 'Special Focus' workshops to help you deepen your practice of yoga on and off the mat.  This retreat will not only allow for emotional and physical restoration, but for spiritual fortitude, and a life-changing experience amongst the rich and vibrant culture of India.
