Tai-Chi (taiji) is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. It is based in the Taoist philosophy of the energetic play between yin and yang energy. Unlike most traditional martial arts that rely on hard linear force, Tai-Chi stresses relaxation, breathing and non-impact body posture and movement. Suitable for all ages, Tai-Chi is now being practice worldwide and has been recognized by western science as a very effective exercise to treat a wide range of issues affecting people in the modern age.
