This workshop retreat is for Anyone who is seeking a restorative weekend of yoga, meditation and mindful cooking at Sunset Retreat in the Hills of Kensington in the East Bay Area of San Francisco! It is an opportunity to deepen your yoga practice and learn the healing qualities of Ayurveda. This weekend will be focused on building the elements of physical and psychological self-awareness through the practices of yoga and Ayurveda

Schedule :

Embrace each day with morning mediation, 2 yoga practices and mindful cooking classes. This weekend will be focused on building the elements of physical and psychological self-awareness through the practices of yoga and Ayurveda.  For an additional cost, Thia Massage and Ayurvedic Consultations are available.

Friday :

3-4pm : Meet and Greet

4-5:30pm : Gentle Yoga Practice

5:30-6:30pm : Lecture

6:30 : Depart for the day (time for consults, massage possible)

Saturday :

8-8:45am : Meditation

8:45-9:30am : Breakfast

9:30-11:00am : Yoga Practice

11-12:00pm : Lecture

12-3pm : Ayurvedic Cooking Lesson, Lunch and rest (time for consults, massage possible)

3-4:30pm : Gentle Yoga Practice

4:30-6:00pm : Walking Meditation, Lecture, Group Discussion

6:30pm : Depart for the day (consults, massage possible)

Meet the Facilitators :

Sera Melini

Sera is a lifetime student and and an accomplished teacher of Yoga and Ayurveda. She has been blessed with teachers who have searched classically for the patterns of the Universe and Spirit. Her classic training s in the realms of Yoga, Mantra, and Ayurveda all serve to assist in increased depth, sensitivity, and simplicity in the ways she lives and practices. 

Some of her teachers include, Andrey Lappa of Universal Yoga, Kula Yoga Project, Sankalpah College of Yoga (Yoga), Sadhvi Abha Saraswatiji and Raghunath Cappo (Mantra), Vaidya Ravi of Poonthottam Ayurvedasram, the California College of Ayurveda, and BCD (Ayurveda). Her teachers of touch include those at Sunshine School (Chiang Mai, Thailand) and Ohm (Omsala Chiang Mai, Thailand) for the wisdom of Thai Massage and Chi Nei Tsang.  

Sera teaches from a heartfelt space of humble knowledge, respect and intuition - qualities ever present in yoga and its teachings.

Geni Donnelly

Based in Frederick, Maryland, Geni, E-RYT 500®, YACEP® , and co-founder of the nonprofit organization Yogamour. She is a registered Prana Flow® yoga teacher and 500 Hour Advanced Yoga Therapist. Further credentials include certification in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for PTSD founded by David Emerson of the Trauma Center of Justice Resource Institute in Massachusetts, as well as a Yoga for Cancer (Y4C) Teacher Training with Tari Prinster, Trauma-Informed Yoga Training taught by Kala Khouri with Off The Mat Into the World, and Teaching Yoga and Mindfulness in Prison at Omega Institute.

Having practiced yoga for decades, Geni has been teaching public yoga classes, and trauma sensitive yoga classes for survivors of trauma and marginalized communities since 2008. She has led yoga volunteer retreats in the US, Puerto Rico and Asia. Geni co-leads Trauma-Informed Yoga Training Programs for yoga teachers, educators, therapists and social workers.
