What if we didn’t have to carry it forward⁉️

Hello Friends!

Have you ever heard of a sutra? A sutra is a concise statement that expresses a teaching or principle. The Yoga Sutras, traditionally attributed to the ancient sage Patanjali, were composed in Sanskrit and offer guidance on yoga philosophy, meditation, and living with greater awareness.

Yoga Sutra 2.16 offers a simple but powerful teaching: “The suffering that has not yet come can be avoided.”

It isn't a promise that yoga will protect us from difficult things. Life will still bring change, disappointment, uncertainty, and moments we cannot control.

But our practice can help us notice what happens next.

The stories we repeat.
The tension we hold.
The habits we return to without realizing it.
The ways we brace for something that hasn't even happened yet.

Yoga gives us an opportunity to interrupt the pattern.

Every time we step onto the mat, we practice noticing a little sooner. We breathe before reacting. We soften where we've been gripping. We make a different choice when a different choice is available.

Maybe avoiding future suffering doesn't mean controlling what comes next.

Maybe it simply means meeting what comes next with a little more awareness.

Pause, take a breath and come practice with us.

With gratitude,
