ABOUT THE TRAINING

Undoubtedly, there are trauma survivors in yoga classes. Yoga can trigger or re-traumatize students, despite its intention to heal. It is said that almost everyone has experienced some form of trauma. The severity of trauma varies, but we all carry trauma in our bodies and DNA.

When you become a yoga teacher, our goal is to create a kind and caring atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. During this training, you will learn about trauma and how it affects people. You'll also learn how to teach yoga in a way that supports those who have experienced trauma, helping them feel safe and empowered in their bodies and lives. We will teach you how to create well-structured and safe yoga classes, starting with gentle movements and progressing to more challenging poses.

This training is open to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of yoga philosophy and learn how to teach yoga effectively. It's also a great opportunity for those who want to enhance their personal practice and use yoga as a way to heal. Once you complete the training, you'll receive a 240 Hour RYT Certificate. If you're interested in becoming a certified yoga teacher, we can guide you through the process with Yoga Alliance. We'll also cover important topics like insurance, self-promotion, and networking skills. There are also opportunities to volunteer with Yogamour Outreach and teach classes in the community. Whether or not you choose to teach, you'll have a supportive community to help you on your journey.
