ABOUT THE TRAINING
Yoga is a powerful tool for healing, but it's essential to recognize that trauma survivors may experience challenges or triggers during practice. At Yogamour's Yoga Teacher Training, we prioritize creating a kind and supportive atmosphere where everyone can feel safe and welcomed.
During this comprehensive training, you'll gain deep insights into trauma and its impacts on individuals. Our experienced and certified instructors will guide you in teaching yoga inclusively and supportively, ensuring that all students can participate and benefit from the practice.
This training is open to anyone eager to deepen their understanding of yoga philosophy and effective teaching methods. Whether you're aspiring to become a certified yoga teacher or simply want to enrich your personal practice, our Yoga Teacher Training program will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. We'll also provide guidance on certification through Yoga Alliance, as well as essential topics like insurance, self-promotion, and networking.

CAN I MISS CLASS AND STILL RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATION?
While 100% attendance is encouraged, we understand life happens. Students may miss class due to extenuating circumstances but must coordinate with the program director to make up any missed hours.
If more than 3 Saturdays are missed, in-person hours must be made up with a teacher trainer at $25 per hour. Missing training hours without completing make-up work will result in no graduation, no Yoga Alliance certification, and no refunds from Yogamour.

Asana or Yoga Forms (45 hours)
Anatomy & Physiology (30 hours)
Yoga History, Ethics, and Philosophy (30 hours)
Pranayama & Subtle Body (15 hours)
Meditation (15 hours)
Professional Essentials of Teaching Yoga (50 hours)
Final Exam and Presentation prep (15 hours)
Over several months, this content will be taught through various learning modalities, such as -
Pre-recorded content: yoga practice, philosophy, contemplations
Specific slide presentations and resources for each topic
Ongoing lecture and discussion
Class observations
Practice teaching with peers
Pre-recorded cueing videos
Dedicated research for final presentation
Additional and optional activities will be sprinkled throughout the training which may include visiting other studios and outdoor classroom time. Teachers will demonstrate their culmination of knowledge through a heavily-researched final presentation on graduation weekend.

MEET YOUR TEACHERS
Geni Donnelly, the visionary behind Yogamour Yoga & Healing Arts Center and Yogamour Studio in Frederick, Maryland, is a holistic well-being beacon. As a distinguished E-RYT 500® certified instructor and YACEP® approved, she co-founded Yogamour, Inc. Geni holds numerous qualifications including Prana Vinyasa Flow® yoga teacher, 500-Hour Advanced Yoga Therapy certification, Somatic Experiencing Training™, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga for PTSD certification, and Yoga for Cancer (Y4C) Teacher Training.
Beccah Bartlett, a renowned yoga luminary, travels globally to lead transformative yoga volunteer retreats, fostering unity and healing. She merges Ayurveda and storytelling in immersive classes, nurturing purpose and connection. Influenced by mentors Seane Corn and Shiva Rae, Beccah's playful vinyasa style transcends the mat to inspire a mindful lifestyle. Her unique approach invites practitioners to seamlessly integrate yoga into their daily lives in infinite gratitude to her teachers and the practice of selfless service.
Bonnie Abbott, is a queer advocate with fierce passion for social issues. With over 15 years in education spaces, she regularly presents on nervous system regulation in schools, and leads local teacher trainings at Sol Yoga, Yogamour, and Branches of Yoga. Bonnie specializes in trauma informed yoga, physical accessibility, and inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ community. Bonnie also works with the Children's Advocacy Center, bringing yoga to young survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Credentials include: YACEP, E-RYT-200®, 140 hrs of TIY, and an additional 40 hrs of Accessible Yoga training with Jivana Heyman.
Melissa Perlman, Melissa started yoga in 2016 to heal after her father's death from Parkinson's disease. She noticed the impact and wanted to understand it, so she studied with Maria Garre and got her 200-hour RYT in Prana Flow (TM) in 2018. Melissa enjoys exploring different poses and helping students transform through her inclusive approach. She's also certified in restorative and aerial yoga.
Gigi Parisi, certified in various yoga disciplines, passionately nurtures the mind-body-spirit connection. Fusing traditional philosophy with modern techniques, she offers transformative experiences emphasizing sacredness, anatomy, and breath. Gigi guides students toward stability, strength, and personal growth, exploring mental, energetic, and emotional layers with fun and self-discovery. Her supportive teaching empowers students to nourish their bodies, expand their minds, and nurture their souls. Additionally, Gigi leads Yoga Teacher Training Programs and serves as the distance Educational Director at Yogamour..
Carrie Dennison, an E-RYT registered with Yoga Alliance, has transformed her wellness journey. Trained in Yogamour Trauma-Informed Yoga, Rest for All Restorative Yoga, and Reiki Master Training, she is also certified in Yin Yoga. Carrie found yoga while balancing work and family, creating an open and relaxed space for healing within a supportive community. Her mission is to empower others to connect with mind and body, cultivating truth and well-being. Completing her 200-Hour RYT training at Ananda Shala in Maryland laid the foundation for her teaching journey, specializing in restorative yoga and recognizing the importance of rest.
Landon Morrison, an RYT-500 yoga instructor and aspiring IAYT therapist, is dedicated to sharing yoga's healing essence. Through personal transformation at Sivananda Yoga Ranch in 2018, Landon seeks to understand yoga's transformative power. With a background in sign language interpretation and a passion for therapy, Landon creates intentional classes to improve mobility and mental focus. As part of the Yogamour Outreach Team, he extends yoga and mindfulness to underserved populations, embodying his commitment to service and well-being.
Rebecca Hargreaves, with 20+ years of yoga experience, is a caring and skilled teacher who encourages self-discovery through movement. She believes in the power of storytelling and fosters a dynamic conversation between students and their bodies. Rebecca creates a safe, supportive space for practitioners, meeting them where they are in their practice. She sees herself as a facilitator, guiding students to find their unique light in each pose. In her philosophy, every student is their own teacher, and she joyfully embarks on this transformative journey with them.
Alli Houseworth, E-RYT 500, iRest Level Two, Warriors at Ease, educator, and facilitator with 15+ years' experience, brings yoga, mindfulness, and meditation to military communities to address chronic stress and trauma. She has taught soldiers in Army Soldier Recovery Care Units, led workshops on resilience and post-traumatic growth, and delivered trauma-informed mindfulness programs to incarcerated veterans. Former executive director of Warriors at Ease, Alli now works as a Yoga and iRest Specialist for O2X Human Performance, teaching resilience workshops to trauma-affected communities.
Nicole Heatherly, certified Trauma-Informed Yoga teacher from Yogamour and doctor of chiropractics, is a healer and health embodiment coach empowering individuals globally to heal and optimize their well-being. With private practice insights and personal healing, Nicole emphasizes holistic healthcare for all, stressing deep connection and body devotion. Nicole is committed to uncovering the innate wisdom within the body and equipping individuals with extensive knowledge and resources to foster healing, flourishing, and holistic well-being. Her mission is to empower individuals to embrace their healing journey, excel in life, and attain overall wellness.
Annie Lessard is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor (RYT-240) with extensive experience in eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and LGBTQ+ populations. Annie focuses on establishing a strong mind-body connection for her clients, using various therapeutic modalities. Recently completing training in EMDR therapy, she aims to provide additional support to individuals who have experienced trauma. Annie's holistic approach fosters healing and resilience in her clients' journey toward well-being.
