May 10 - 12 | Sequencing and Theming

This theming and sequencing training will teach and support participants through the creation of a variety of class themes, sequences and sequence ‘bites’ via group discussion and shared practice. This weekend will lead us to deepen our understanding of how to not only create a class theme, but to explore various kramas of each shape so that all students can participate in your class offering while also inviting them to open and explore their bodies and minds. Participants will leave this weekend with up to five newly created themes and sequences to help build practices to share with their students.

June 14 - 16 | Postures, Precision, and Props

Join Rebecca Hargreaves for a weekend of specificity and clarity. Known for being an anomaly in her teaching as well as a precisionist, Rebecca will bring new awareness to your teaching by activating smaller muscles to deepen your knowledge of the body. Become more familiar with the use of props to enlighten your instruction and to help all types of bodies in your classes. Common postures will be broken down into each body part utilized, how to activate specific muscles for these body parts, how to use the props in a myriad of ways and how it all combines to make the posture the best it can be for your students.

July 12 | Yoga and Social Justice

During this (virtual!) training we will be exploring social justice in and as yoga. We will work together to create a more comfortable space to discuss difficult topics. This will consist of a combination of two hours individual study before the weekend, and a virtual gathering on July 12 including lecture, discussion, and asana (poses). We will be deepening our understanding of social justice and gain knowledge surrounding current world events. Individually we will explore our personal privileges and biases to better understand how that shows up in the space of yoga. Together we will learn ways of teaching yoga in a trauma-sensitive way, and through a social justice lens. *This training covers content sufficient for 4 CEU’s.

September 20 - 22 | Accessible Yoga

Welcome to our Accessible Yoga training, a gentle and accessible practice designed to bring the tremendous benefits of yoga to individuals of all ages and abilities. Join us, and experience how Chair Yoga offers a unique approach to traditional yoga poses, making it suitable for those who may have limited mobility or balance challenges. This training will also be useful for those who sit at a desk for long hours and would be interested in doing yoga during breaks at work, or anybody else who just would like to be able to do a self-led seated yoga practice sometimes.

July 13 - 14 | Restorative Yoga

Some of our students’ most effective healing can happen through Restorative Yoga. When given the opportunity for deep and purposeful rest, our students can experience what caring for themselves really feels like as we hold the space for them to be still, be quiet, and be held. Restorative Yoga can aid in trauma-recovery, reduce fatigue, comfort experiences of anxiety, alleviate physical pain due to injury or stress responses, among other things. This teacher training will provide the tools you need to explore your own Restorative Yoga practice and teach Restorative Yoga poses with confidence in a group setting and to one-on-one clients. *This training covers content sufficient for 15 CEU’s.

October 18 - 20 | Sequencing and Theming

Join Gigi Parisi for a weekend training curating the art of class theming and sequencing. This weekend training invites you to explore your unique teaching style as you lean into structuring class themes and sequences. This training covers playful and inclusive transitions, class/time management, modifications, nourishing meditations, exploration of sequenced movements, guiding blissful savasana, and more, while encouraging you to follow your own intuitive guidance as a teacher. Students will leave this weekend having multiple practice teaching opportunities with created sequences to expand on as you step into the role of a yoga teacher.
