Some of our students’ most effective healing can happen through Restorative Yoga. When given the opportunity for deep and purposeful rest, our students can experience what caring for themselves really feels like as we hold the space for them to be still, be quiet, listen inward, and be held. Restorative Yoga can aid in trauma-recovery, reduce fatigue, comfort experiences of anxiety, alleviate physical pain due to injury or stress responses, among other things.
This teacher training will provide the tools you need to teach Restorative Yoga poses with confidence in a group setting and to one-on-one clients. Training includes a copy of a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Manual. If you're registered with Yoga Alliance, you can earn 14 CEUs.
You will learn:
detailed alignment and prop set up of at least ten (10) Restorative Yoga postures
the benefits and energetics of Restorative Yoga postures
how to teach the practice of Restorative Yoga in a virtual forum
how Restorative Yoga can support the healing process of trauma and tips for teaching with a trauma-informed approach
when and how to use props to initiate a relaxation response
the skills for effective physical and verbal adjustments during Restorative Yoga practice
how to determine physical and energetic misalignment in Restorative Yoga poses
how to address injuries, limitations, and special conditions during Restorative Yoga practice

Meet Your Instructor:
Your facilitator, Carrie Dennison is a registered E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. Credentials include Yogamour Trauma-Informed Yoga Training, Rest for All Restorative Yoga with Tara Lemerise, Reiki Master Training with Irene Glasse and Yin Yoga Certification with Machelle Lee.
Carrie has discovered the importance of self-care to bring balance to a busy life. In sharing the practice of restorative yoga as a tool for activating the parasympathetic nervous system, there is an innate ability to decrease stress and anxiety.
Invoking the passion that "we are already whole,” Carrie adheres to the belief that stress, anxiety, and trauma come to us all as messengers but they do not have to define who we are.
