We have found over the years that offering scholarships and 'early bird' pricing tends to create unnecessary competition among students for who is in the 'most' need, and can also perpetuate financial disparities even further. Instead, we offer three distinct tiers of pricing, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your budget. We set up this way so there is no competition for scholarship funding, no stress about early bird pricing, only an honest look at what you can afford to pay out in exchange for this experience and certification. You can use the 'Green Bottle' method from Alexis J. Cunningfolk to assist in deciding which price you'll pay in exchange for this training.

Tier 3 - $500 | Tier 2 - $400 | Tier 1 - $300

Yogamour Trauma-Informed Yoga Training consists of a robust, evidence-based curriculum developed through research from leaders in the field of trauma research and body-based methods of healing.   The training begins with four on-line training modules spanning 4 weeks which will prepare students for a 3 day in-person weekend.  On-line modules will review the neurobiology of trauma and how yoga can play a roll in the healing process.  The 3 day in-person portion of the training will bring together the course material with lecture, discussion, group activities, and practice teaching trauma-informed yoga.

In this training you will learn techniques for supporting greater nervous system regulation that can be adapted for most any therapeutic situation.  Whether you are a counsellor, social worker or therapist who works with private clients, or yoga teacher or educator who works in groups, this training will provide you with tools to immediately implement in your workplace.

For those who work with private clients, you will experience and learn to guide your clients with somatic techniques that can support greater self-awareness and regulation during a session. Integrating these tools into an understanding of your client's nervous system can offer you and your client new tools for when they may feel stuck.

For those who teach group classes, you will experience and learn methods to adapt yoga classes to accommodate those with trauma, how to support a student who has become overwhelmed or highly agitated during class, and learn basic sequences to teach your own trauma-informed yoga class.  Your understanding therapeutic modalities will deepen, as you gain a broader perspective of the way yoga can become part of an overall healing program.

Time will be given for partnering in pairs or small groups, to practice the techniques you have learned, especially the ones you feel can be most helpful to you in your work with others.

Yogamour Trauma-Informed Yoga graduates are offered the unique opportunity to apply for grant money to teach their own yoga and mindfulness programs as a complimentary therapy to survivors of trauma and marginalized communities. Is there a group or community that you feel inspired to share the benefits of yoga with?  We can help with funding and navigation through bureaucratic red tape in many organizations.

Your teachers during this training understand the importance of supporting each other, establishing connections, and recognizing relative resources available in the outlying community. In so doing, we welcome your feedback and ideas with regard to offering trauma-informed yoga to as many people as possible, especially those whose resources are limited.

Also, as Yogamour  continues to expand the internal outreach programs, we enthusiastically welcome those who are qualified to join the team of peaceful warriors by teaching trauma-informed classes at our new studio.

"We support and empower our graduates as they join the movement towards healing -  one nervous system at a time!"
