Founded by Geni Donnelly and Rebeccah Bartlett in 2011, Yogamour’s mission is to inspire yogis to bring their yoga off the mat and into the world in the form of seva while fostering health and wellness practices, particularly benefiting women and children, through local and global outreach. Yogamour continues to bring therapuetic yoga and mindfulness practices to survivors of trauma, marginalized communities and in-need populations as a part of the mission of seva.
DEFINITION: Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning “selfless service”. It is the art of giving with no need to receive, where the act itself is a gift to everyone involved – the art of blessed action.
Volunteer Yoga Retreats
Yogamour hosts vibrant yoga retreats in exotic and exciting locations around the world allowing participants the opportunity to tour with local guides, sightsee and explore new cultures all with a yoga twist and hands-on volunteering in the communities we support. Yogamour seva projects operate to support rural communities in Thailand and India by creating free health care clinics, offering educational support through volunteerism, in-kind donations and more. We have provided aid for over 300 children who are impoverished or have limited options in life.
Yogamour welcomes all who want to join in on our endeavor to take yoga off the mat and into the world – we can’t do it with you! Your support in the form of attending a retreat, becoming an ambassador or simply making a monetary donation allows us to keep our programs going strong.
