Have you met the person on the mat next to you?🫶🏽
Hello Friends,
As a community, we experience meaningful transformation together. We are united by a shared love of the practice, but you might be surprised by the stories of the yogi beside you.
On Sunday morning, as I was preparing for class, Meghan arrived a few minutes early. I always love the conversations before class. If you have not met Meghan, she has a very grounding energy and kind eyes. She shared that she got a little sunburned on Saturday afternoon from mulching and planting bulbs. Then she said, “I didn’t even know I could get sunburned. I don’t know if you know this about me, but last year I planted 800 trees on my property.” I paused, and my jaw metaphorically dropped. It did not take long to realize the impact that many trees can have on our environment, ecosystem, and overall well-being.
Meghan lives on 10 acres near Myersville with her husband, Jesse, and their pup, Harpo. With the help of the Maryland DNR, she is making a meaningful impact on our community. When she is not planting trees or sharing her warmth at Yogamour, she is officiating weddings in Northern Virginia.
Yoga is often defined as “yoke,” meaning to join or to connect. Like yoking a horse to a cart, it is about union. Your practice does not begin when class starts or end when it finishes. It is ongoing, ever evolving, and fluid, woven into the way we live, connect, and care for the world around us.
With gratitude,
Jaime and The Yogamour Team
